Upcoming Cleanups

  • Volunteer Center Clean Up (Special Event) @ Pogonip Open Space
    Volunteer to clean up Pogonip removing trash from trails.
    • Time: May 3rd, 2025 @ 9:45am - 12pm (clean up starts at 10am - but please arrive at 9:45 for parking and walking to meeting spot)
    • Meet: Park Entrance at the end of Golf Club Drive (Emma McCrary Trailhead). 501 Golf Club Drive, Santa Cruz CA 95060
    • Please wear hiking boots or sturdy shoes, layers for warm or cold weather and sunscreen. Volunteers will do lots of walking on the trails and some volunteers may use a wheelbarrow to remove larger items.
  • Volunteer Center Clean Up (Monthly) Volunteer to clean up Pogonip removing trash from trails.
    • Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

    • Please arrive 15 minutes early to provide time for parking and a short walk to the meeting location.

  • Keep Capitola Salty
    • Time: March 1st, 2025 @ 9AM
    • Monthly village & beach clean up! Meet in Esplanade Park.
  • Join Save Our Shores cleanups
    • Beach Cleanup @ Capitola Beach (March 15, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am)
      • Registration is required
      • Meet Up Location: Please meet us in the Esplanade Park at 120 Monterey Ave.
      • Facilities & Accessibility: here are restrooms and drinking fountains available on site. Paid parking in the village is limited, additional large parking lot available at 426 Capitola Ave, please plan accordingly.
    • Beach Cleanup @ Sunny Cove Beach (March 22, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am)
      • Registration is required
      • Meet Up Location: Please meet us at the end of Johan’s Beach Drive at the main entrance to the beach.
      • Facilities & Accessibility: There are no restrooms available, and no drinking fountains on site. Parking is limited, so please plan accordingly.
    • Beach Cleanup @ Davenport Landing Beach (March 29, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am)
      • Registration is required
      • Meet Up Location: Please meet us at the beginning of the trail to the beach near the parking lot off Davenport Landing Rd.
      • Facilities & Accessibility: There are restrooms available, but there are no drinking fountains on site. Parking is limited, so please plan accordingly.
  • Join Coastal Watershed Council!
    A fun, family friendly way to help clean and protect our San Lorenzo River.
    • River Health Day @ San Lorenzo River (March 8, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm)
      • Registration is required
      • Meet Up Location: East riverbank between the Soquel Ave and Laurel Street bridges
      • Facilities & Accessibility: Free parking is available in the CWC parking lot at 107 Dakota Ave. Paid parking is also available on Dakota Avenue or across the river in downtown Santa Cruz. The closest parking garage is at 601 Front Street.

      • All ages and abilities welcome. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

      We recommend that all volunteers dress in comfortable gardening clothes, including long pants, socks and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Bring layers, sun protection and a reusable water bottle. Gloves, tools and light refreshments will be provided.

  • Watsonville Wetlands Watch (January 25, 2025 10:00 am - 1:00 pm)

    Fourth Saturday Event! Fantastic tree planting event! We hope to plant more Oak Trees along Ohlone Parkway below an area we know as Tar Plant Hill. Your support in getting more trees planted is greatly appreciated. Parking for this event will be along Loma Vista Dr.(50 Loma Vista Dr). Look out for our outreach table. Snacks and tools provided. This event is perfect for people of all ages.
