Pitch In All-Santa Cruz Cleanup Day will be May 10th, 2025!

Since July 2021, Caltrans and its local partners have picked up more than 2.8 million cubic yards of litter – enough to cover nine lanes of Interstate 5 with trash from the Mexican border to Oregon.

2022 Clean up Highlight!

Home to a myriad of both residential and migrating birds, river otters, amphibians, fish, and native plants, south county sloughs are highly sensitive habitats. Beacons of beauty for birders, recreational walkers, families, and artists who visit them. The Trash Talkers September cleanup resulted in the removal of two – thirty-yard dumpsters, Two – eight-yard containers of trash, and an additional eight-yard container, plus a long bed pickup truck of metal debris left by illegal encampments. A positive outcome from the Trash Talkers collaboration including: The Department of Fish and Wildlife, City of Watsonville, Santa Cruz County Sheriffs, and Watsonville Works.

This is illegal Dumping! Take usable items to appropriate locations.

"If you are a customer of Green Waste, you qualify for four extra setups and three bulky items collected every calendar year as part of your service."
– Beau Hawksford, county of Santa Cruz
